Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support the preparation, analysis, and maintenance of financial records in accordance with GAAP standards. This role is responsible for journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and variance analysis, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of the month-end close process.

The Senior Accountant will also review work performed by Staff Accountants, support audits, and partner cross-functionally with Finance, FP&A, and operations teams to deliver accurate, decision-ready financial insights.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare and post timely, accurate journal entries in support of month-end close
  • Review and analyze financial statements, trial balances, and account activity
  • Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations with proper supporting documentation
  • Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by Staff Accountants, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Identify discrepancies, perform variance analysis, and recommend corrective actions
  • Prepare and present financial reports, schedules, and management reporting packages
  • Support cash reconciliations, forecasting, and budgeting activities
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests and maintain audit-ready documentation
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and procedures
  • Partner with FP&A and cross-functional teams to improve reporting processes and data accuracy
  • Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and financial controls optimization
  • Complete ad hoc analyses and special projects as assigned by leadership

What You Will Bring: 

  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Proven experience supporting month-end close and audit processes
  • Experience with variance analysis and financial statement review
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting preferred)
  • Experience with cash reconciliations, forecasting, or budgeting support
  • Exposure to industries such as hospitality, real estate, mortgage, or financial services
  • Experience working with large datasets or complex account structures
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Oracle, SAP, Yardi, etc.)
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Sound judgment and ability to identify and resolve accounting issues
