Westgate Resorts is seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Demand Planner to join our dynamic Supply Chain Excellence team. The Demand Planner will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts to optimize inventory levels, improve supply chain efficiency, and support the company's strategic goals. This role requires expertise in forecasting techniques, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with teams including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Food & Beverage, and Engineering.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for various time horizons, incorporating historical consumption data, market trends, external events, seasonality, and other relevant factors.
- Utilize statistical forecasting models and software tools to generate accurate forecasts and enhance forecasting methodologies.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Food & Beverage, and Engineering teams to gather insights on market trends, product lifecycle management, customer demand patterns, and projected bookings.
- Analyze forecast variances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve forecast accuracy.
- Work closely with Supply Planning and Operations to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize obsolescence.
- Prepare and present forecast reports, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in Sales, Operations, and Property meetings to review forecasts, align demand and supply plans, and provide recommendations.
- Continuously improve demand planning processes and systems, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
- Conduct scenario planning to assess the impact of potential demand fluctuations and develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain documentation of forecasting methodologies, assumptions, and performance metrics.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in demand planning techniques and technologies.
- Support the development and implementation of inventory control policies and procedures.
- Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner, collaborating with relevant teams to find solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in demand planning, forecasting, or a related supply chain role.
- Strong understanding of forecasting principles and techniques (e.g., time series analysis, regression analysis).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data manipulation using tools such as Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with demand planning software and Oracle systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong presentation and reporting skills.
Preferred:
- Advanced knowledge of statistical modeling and forecasting software.
- Experience in the hospitality industry.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
