Director of Facilities & Engineering – Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo, River Ranch, FL

As the Director of Facilities and Engineering, you will be the visionary leader responsible for overseeing and directing the resort’s engineering and maintenance operations. With your experience, technical expertise, and strategic mindset, you will play a key role in shaping and executing operational strategy, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. You will lead a team of skilled professionals, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practices.  This individual must possess and adhere to the following core values:

What You’ll Do
As the Director of Facilities & Engineering, you’ll be the driving force behind the safe, efficient, and seamless operation of one of Florida’s most unique resort destinations. You will:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering and maintenance team dedicated to excellence and guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee daily operations of all resort systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pools, landscaping, and laundry facilities.
  • Develop and execute departmental strategies, budgets, and staffing plans that align with resort goals and corporate standards.
  • Manage capital projects from planning through completion—ensuring work meets quality, timeline, and budget expectations.
  • Partner closely with resort leadership and other departments to support an exceptional guest experience through timely maintenance and proactive solutions.
  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards and environmental guidelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement in energy efficiency, sustainability, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies to ensure quality partnerships and contract compliance.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, materials, and department assets while overseeing procurement processes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive leadership experience in facilities, engineering, or property operations within a hospitality, resort, or commercial environment.
  • Proven experience managing teams, budgets, and large-scale maintenance or capital improvement projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and resort maintenance software (HotSOS or equivalent).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical data, and operational manuals.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to lead by example and foster collaboration.
  • OSHA certification and trade licenses (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) are preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and holidays as needed.
