The HR Specialist is responsible for providing general support to the HR Department, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, timekeeping, and auditing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Perform timekeeping functions (utilizing ADP) for assigned departments
Assist team members with inquiries regarding benefits, policies, transfers, etc.; fill in for the TMS employment coordinator in their absence
Enter disciplinary warnings into the HRIS database
Create the monthly Ocoee Observer newsletter
Prepare internal communications for team members (events, reminders, etc.)
Conduct various audits throughout the year (I-9s, policy acknowledgments, etc.)
Assist in scanning personnel files and documents into ImageQuest
Facilitate new hire orientation when needed
Maintain confidentiality in all areas, including personnel actions, legal matters, terminations, and organizational plans
Provide general assistance and research support to HR generalists and the director
Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
Keep the Ocoee HR network folder up to date
Mail various types of correspondence (e.g., no-call/no-show letters)
Manage the team member transfer process
Coordinate the annual health fair and other team member events
Audit drug testing and background check vendor invoices
Manage the uniform ordering process
Perform special projects as assigned

Ability to manage tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
Proven success working independently and as part of a team
Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of accuracy and focus
Strong work ethic required
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
Timekeeping experience preferred
Working knowledge of human resources concepts and practices
Education and/or Experience
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in business administration with a focus in human resources, and one to two years of related experience and/or training is required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Physical Demands
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
