This position supports the management of the Team Member Services (Human Resources) department and assists in overseeing benefits administration, employee relations, communication to departments and team members, career development of team members, wage & hour compliance, training, workers' compensation and legal matters related to resort employees.
Duties
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, government agencies, and company policies and procedure (e.g. Occupational Safety and Health Act., Equal Employment Opportunity, Wage and Hour, Affirmative Action, employee records administration, etc.)
- Conduct annual HR compliance/standards self-audit. Communicate and interpret all company and hotel policies and procedures.
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date personnel files on all employees.
- Create programs and events to foster a positive work environment for all employees.
- Oversee and facilitate training initiatives such as New Hire Orientation, Certified Field Trainers (CFT) program and works with Corporate L&D team to move forward L&D initiatives.
- Ensure worker's compensations claims are properly documented and reported.
- Assist with leave programs such as FMLA, PLOA, Workers Compensation, etc.
- Assist in submitting required documentation in response to unemployment claims.
- Oversee David's Dollars Foundation requests.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
- Keeps records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and team member statistics for government reporting.
- Helps coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and anti-discrimination/sexual harassment.
- Assist with investigations of team member complaints.
- Assist with benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, team member assistance, and related educational programs.
- Prepares team member separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Oversee the TMS department in absence of the TMS Regional Director.
- Assist in the development of TMS team members.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning and directing work; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- The ideal candidate will have hospitality experience
- Must have experience in disciplinary actions and terminations
- FMLA/ADA experience is desired
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members of organization
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as HR Generalist or Manager
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- PHR, Professional in HR or SPHR, Senior Professional in Team
