The Safety & Security Director directs and coordinates the activities of uniformed Safety & Security Officers actively engaged in the execution of the CFI, Inc. Security and Safety program.
What You'll Do:
- Hiring and screening employees.
- Directs and coordinates the activities of security officers. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Implementation and management of government mandated safety and security programs (such as blood borne pathogen and hazardous communications training)
- Organization and management of all department generated records.
- Establish daily procedures and responsibilities for Safety & Security personnel.
- Conduct routine safety and security inspections and administer an on-going safety inspection program.
- Direct and/or conduct internal criminal and civil investigations and act as a liaison to Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Personnel.
- Act as a contact person and liaison to OSHA and/or any government health/safety organization.
- Coordinate and/or instruct employee health, safety and security training programs in cooperation with the corporate division of risk management, and the Regional Director of Security.
- Manage any interdepartmental Safety & Security programs
- Fulfill the duties of any subordinate manager and hourly employee in their absence.
- Act on behalf of the Corporate Director of Security or any other representative of the corporation as directed.
- Act as a task force coordinator for any event requiring esoteric or additional security services (such as dignitary protection or special events).
- Act as facilitator and chairman of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee.
- Retains all written communications between management and the Safety Committee,
- Completes and distributes accurate minutes of committee meetings and final report of the hearings,
- Maintains an effective driver training and licensing program for drivers of company gas and non-gas operated vehicles,
- Implements safety inspection programs,
- Attend and participate in meetings of: Operational, Staff, Business, Executive, Safety Committee, and Risk Management,
- Be on call and available to respond to incidents 24 hour a day.
- Respond to critical incidents and assume control of incident scenes.
- Administer progressive disciplinary actions to subordinate employees as required under corporate policy.
- Responsible for interact/assist guest and employees,
- Prepare and maintain weekly scheduling of all security personnel,
- Prepare daily work assignments for line personnel,
- Monitor, insure the accuracy of, and maintain records of time keeping for all subordinate security personnel,
- Insure subordinates perform their duties in accordance with corporate policies and state law regulating the activities of the safety officers,
- Perform the duties of subordinate officers as required,
- Coordinate the field training for new officers.
- Insure subordinates perform their duties in accordance with corporate policies and state law regulating the activities of the security officers. Insure all officers are in compliance with state laws, regulations, and licensing,
- Oversee operation and maintenance of security systems, electronic lock security, and key control access systems,
- Respond to fire/burglar alarms,
- Responsible for the resort surveillance (vehicle/foot), including pools, restaurant and all venues,
- Responsible for maintaining, data collection, and reporting for Tour Guard System,
- Responsible for implementation of inventory controls and loss management systems,
- Responsible for maintaining, logging, damage and loss control of all security inventory and assets,
- Maintain an inventory of equipment for issue to new employees or replacement as needed.
- Manages the Lost & Found Department.
- Responsible for the departmental budget
- Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
- Fifth year college or university program certificate; or at least four years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Additional certification from a government approved public safety training facility.
- Must be able to work any shift, (day or night) in all weather conditions, and be on call and available 24 hours.
- Previous hospitality experience preferred but not required.
- Customer Service experience.
