Westgate Resorts is seeking a Security Supervisor for our 3rd Shift team. As a Security Supervisor, you will help maintain a safe and secure environment for our team members, guests, and resort property. Your ability to stay alert, respond quickly to emergencies, and guide Security Officers through daily operations is essential to the success of our resort security team.
- Schedule: 10pm - 6am and 11pm - 7am
- Oversee and enforce daily procedures and responsibilities for Security personnel.
- Manage disputes, find practical solutions to complex problems, and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in high‑pressure situations.
- Supervise and manage Security Officers, ensuring adherence to company policies and state regulations.
- Direct and/or conduct internal criminal and civil investigations and act as a liaison with Law Enforcement and Emergency Services.
- Manage government‑mandated safety and security programs, including bloodborne pathogen and hazardous communication training.
- Provide exceptional customer service to guests and resort visitors, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Collaborate with various departments to address and resolve issues, adapting to their evolving needs.
- Perform essential computer functions such as typing incident reports, email communications, researching safety standards, and managing security systems/key control.
- Ensure all security activities remain compliant with corporate policies and state laws.
- Supervise or conduct incident investigations and respond to critical incidents, including fire alarms.
- Oversee operation and maintenance of security systems, electronic locks, and key control access systems.
- Write detailed and accurate reports promptly for daily review meetings.
- Provide surveillance oversight, including vehicle, foot, and video monitoring of pools and storage areas.
- Coordinate and supervise security for special events.
- Perform duties of subordinate officers and, when necessary, the Security and Safety Director.
- Attend and participate in operational, staff, safety committee, and risk management meetings.
- Ensure adherence to Westgate’s Disaster Plans, Emergency Procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures.
Experience
- Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to use a computer; experience writing incident reports and managing security systems preferred.
Education & Certifications
- Class D License
- Valid Driver's License
- Red Cross Certification, CPR, AED, and First Aid preferred.
Skills/Knowledge
- Strong communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure, and make sound decisions.
- Knowledge of security operations, resort or hospitality security experience is a plus.
