The Sign Maker is responsible for the creation and installation of a variety of signs, banners, pictures, and related visual displays to support the company’s branding and marketing efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assemble and install signs using various materials such as vinyl, metal, and plastics.
Read and interpret layouts, blueprints, and drawings to construct signs accurately.
Operate equipment including plotters, laminators, electrical tools, utility knives, and squeegees.
Apply vinyl, paint, laminate, and clean materials to produce sign components.
Monitor workflow of sign orders and ensure timely completion.
Repair or revise signs as needed to maintain quality and consistency.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations during sign fabrication and installation.
Education and/or Experience
2–3 years of experience in sign making or a related field.
Language Skills
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
None required.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and communicate clearly.
Occasionally required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
