Westgate Resorts is seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Staff Accountant I to join our team on-site in Orlando, FL. This role is perfect for those looking to build a strong foundation in accounting, with responsibilities including daily cash reconciliations, revenue auditing, and journal entry preparation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain logs and sub-ledgers, daily cash reconciliations, sales commissions and reporting, daily revenue auditing.
- Perform entry-level monthly and annual journal entries and reconciliations.
- Timely and accurate recording of entry level journal entries in accordance with the corporate closing schedule.
- Research and document retrieval to support senior staff.
- Timely and accurate preparation of entry level assigned balance sheet reconciliations.
- Timely research of reconciling items with exceptions reported to senior staff for review and consultation.
- Carry out any reasonable request by management.
- As proficiency is gained, assignments become more complex and less routine.

- Willingness to work overtime to assist financial reporting department deadlines
- Proficient knowledge of various accounting software
- Proficient in Excel (ability to interpret and create spreadsheets), Word, Outlook
- Strong organizational skills
- Detail oriented, proficient in time management
- Excellent communication skills written and oral
- Must have a minimum of two year’s relative experience in a month end close general ledger environment and/or a combination of education including an Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting strongly preferred)
- Ability to work independently and in a group environment (team player)
- Ability to make sound judgments and solve problems
- Must be able to regularly lift, pull, push and or/move up to 10 pounds.
