Job Description

A Trades I - Plumber supports resort operations by performing plumbing tasks, including projects, preventive maintenance, and work orders.

    As a Trades I - Plumber, you will: 

    • Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management
    • Execute daily plumbing tasks and assigned projects while supporting other trades as needed
    • Basic knowledge of plumbing systems operation, installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and replacements
    • Install residential water fixtures, including toilets, faucets, valves, water heaters, and appliances
    • Diagnose and unclog toilets, tubs, Jacuzzis, showers, faucets, and sinks
    • Assist with preliminary plumbing connections for domestic, sanitary, stormwater, and fire safety systems
    • Repair leaks using CPVC, PVC, PEX, copper, cast iron, and black steel pipes
    • Read and interpret technical data and O&M manuals effectively
    • Participate actively in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are available on-site
    • Operate resort operations software and devices effectively (HotSOS)
    • Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions
    • Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by resort management
    • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools needed for plumbing work
    • Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, dust masks, and in confined or narrow spaces
    • Follow safety guidelines and practices
    • Identify and report potential hazards on the property
    • Communicate and interpret guest needs through positive interactions toward resolution
    • Adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures
    • Always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership

    Qualifications

    • Technical certification or plumbing license preferred
    • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in trades and maintenance within a resort or commercial environment
    • Must be detail-oriented with effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to adapt to various tasks, perform effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines consistently
    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • must lift, move, push, or pull up to 50+ pounds
