What Is the Engineer's Edge Program?

The Engineer’s Edge Program is Westgate Resorts' structured career development and training program built for our Engineering team members. This is a career pathway that combines standardized eLearning, hands-on on-the-job training, and real-world skill building alongside certified trainers.

From your very first day, the program gives you a clear, measurable roadmap for growth. Whether you're just starting or looking to take your career to the next level, the Engineers Edge Program gives you everything you need to get there at your own pace.

What will the program teach you?

The program covers the core disciplines that power hospitality engineering, including:

  • HVAC Systems: Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting

  • Plumbing Systems: Diagnostics and hands-on repair

  • Electrical Systems: Circuits, safety, and operational standards

  • Appliance Repair & Maintenance: Real-world diagnostics in the field

  • Safety & Compliance Training: Industry standards that protect you and your team



At each level, Team Members complete 30–60 courses across these disciplines, ensuring well-developed expertise. Every task is performed in the field and validated by managers and qualified evaluators. Certified Westgate Field Trainers will assess foundational skills in Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Appliances, and basic safety during a new Team Member's first 60 days. Once completed, Managers will oversee evaluations as team members advance through the program.
